Thubelihle Ndlovu is a social entrepreneur, banker and microfinance practitioner who is passionate about women and youth empowerment as well as financial inclusion. She is the founding director for Portify Investments. A developmental microfinance that lends to women and youth, and whose mission is to give their borrowers a springboard to escape poverty through various financial Inclusion and developmental strategies.

She has over a decade’s mastery in crafting and implementing women and youth entrepreneurship and financial inclusion programs which have impacted a very significant number of women and youth in Zimbabwe,and Africa ,by supporting them in enterprise start up and growth.

In 2019 Thubelihle participated in an Alumni Ties seminar on strengthening business and trade for women entrepreneurs in Africa during which she successfully coined and submitted Purse on Point Africa, a follow-on grant application to train women in financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Thubelihle is the current Country Coordinator for Purse on Point Africa currently underway in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Uganda and Rwanda.

Thubelihle is a 2017 University of Nevada-Reno, Mandela Washington Fellow in the Business and Entrepreneurship Track and was selected as one of Zimbabwe’s coordinators and facilitators for the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE). AWE is a U.S. Department of State program which avails educational resources for women around the world to engage in U.S-style education with guided facilitation and localization from local alumni, women business leaders, and key interlocutors to ensure small business growth and success.


An award winning community economic development practitioner, Thubelihle has worked with a number of NGOs, such as USAID, UKAID, SIDA, IYF, Various US Embassies, ZimTrade, Tony Elumelu Foundation, Enpact, Empretec, Plan International, JAZ, RBCT, Jekesa Pfungwa/Vulingqondo, BPC, AWEP, PROWEB, and World Learning, as an implementing partner, facilitator, and mentor for their financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs. She has professional and academic qualifications in entrepreneurship, business leadership, microfinance, banking, and finance.
